This book completely changed how I understand JavaScript. Kyle Simpson's approach to explaining the language's core mechanics is brilliant - he doesn't just tell you what to do, he explains why things work the way they do. The 'Get Started' volume sets the perfect foundation for the rest of the series, covering everything from values and types to scope and closures in a way that's both accessible and deep. I've read this book multiple times, and each time I discover something new. It's essential reading for any JavaScript developer who wants to truly understand the language, not just use it. The examples are clear, the explanations are thorough, and the insights are invaluable. This is the book I recommend to every developer who asks about learning JavaScript properly.
