Review

This is the HomeKit doorbell I recommend when someone wants a true Ring killer without an ad-tech cloud in the middle. Circle View delivers Logitech TrueView head-to-toe coverage with a 5 MP sensor, 1200 x 1600 HDR video, and a 160° portrait field of view that keeps faces and packages in frame. Color night vision plus the 4000K LED strip keep nighttime footage clear instead of noisy mush. It wires into standard 8–24V AC doorbell systems, includes the chime kit, and shows up in the Home app like it was built by Apple. HomeKit Secure Video keeps clips end-to-end encrypted in iCloud, so footage stays private. Recording requires a supported iCloud plan and home hub, but there’s no separate vendor subscription—if you already pay for iCloud+, you’re done. Secure, private, and it just works.

✓ Pros

  • 5MP sensor with 1200×1600 HDR video keeps faces and packages sharp
  • 160° portrait field of view delivers true head-to-toe coverage
  • Color night vision plus 4000K LED illumination improves low-light detail
  • HomeKit Secure Video provides end-to-end encrypted recordings
  • No Logitech subscription fee; integrates directly in the Apple Home app

✗ Cons

  • Requires a wired doorbell system and a compatible transformer
  • HomeKit Secure Video needs a supported iCloud plan and a home hub
