My BR1500MS2 is now three and a half years old and it has handled everything my utility has thrown at it this year. Summer brownouts used to spike my interface; with the sinewave AVR engaged the voltage now hovers between 118–122 V even when the neighborhood dips into the 100s. During September’s 32-minute outage the UPS kept a 280 W load (desktop, dual 27-inch monitors, PoE switch, ONT) alive for 38 minutes before PowerChute initiated a graceful shutdown. I proactively swapped the APCRBC163 battery this spring—took five minutes, no tools, and the original pack was still holding about 85% of its rated capacity. The front USB-C/USB-A ports remain handy for charging headsets in a pinch, and the LCD makes it easy to see runtime without launching the app. Downsides haven’t changed: the tower is 25 lb and the replacement cartridge runs roughly $120, plus the alarm chirp at 30-second intervals still needs the quick mute combo when I’m on a late call. Minor quibbles for a UPS that continues to be rock-solid.
