Review

Inkscape is where you go when you want your diagrams, icons, and SVG assets to look intentional instead of hacked together. It's excellent for system diagrams, flow charts, logos, and UI icon work, and it speaks SVG natively, which plays very nicely with modern front-end stacks. For devs who need clean vector assets without paying for a design suite they use twice a month, this is the right level of power.

✓ Pros

  • Excellent for SVG diagrams, icons, and UI assets
  • Vector-native, resolution-independent output
  • Great fit for design systems and front-end graphics
  • Fully open source and cross-platform

✗ Cons

  • You'll need a little practice if you've never used vector tools before
